SURARA

Short documentary

“Surara” is actually a word that doesn’t even exist in Portugese. Among the indigenous tribes of the Brazillian rainforest, its the word that simply means “to struggle against” - and it’s become their rallying cry.

SURARA is the story of the Borarí tribes fight against illegal deforestation. This incredibly spiritual tribe have taught themselves to use technologies like GPS to track and record the crimes of powerful industrial figures, taking them to court, and shutting down projects worth tens of millions of dollars. As such, these powerful businessmen want them dead.

The film is currently in its festival run, and is due to be shown at the United Nations later this year.
